Saturday night saw music lovers from far and wide make their way to London’s O2 Arena for night one of Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball.
As always, Capital puts on an incredible Christmas party, bringing together some of the best artists in the industry to perform on one stage. Saturday night was no different with star studded performances from the likes of Liam Payne, Ellie Goulding and David Guetta.
To relive the amazing concert, we’ve rounded up ten of our favourite moments from night one of Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball.
We get ‘Familiar’ with Liam Payne
Liam Payne opened up this year’s Jingle Bell Ball with a pitch perfect set of his infectious solo hits. After wowing with the likes of ‘Bedroom Floor’ and ‘Get Low’, Liam delivered a sizzling performance of his Spanglish J Balvin collaboration ‘Familar’.
Ellie Goulding shows off her guitar skills
Ellie Goulding made a welcome return to the Capital JBB stage on night one and delivered a set full of her best bops. One of the standout moments was her performance of ‘Burn’, complete with an electrifying guitar solo from the multi-talented artist.
We get down with Rak-Su
Rak-Su brought stacks of energy and dance moves to the JBB stage, with their original material providing many singalong moments. We loved their infectious ‘Dimelo’ which went down a treat with the audience.
Olly Murs shows us his ‘Moves’
Olly Murs reminded us that he is one of pop’s greatest showmen with a lively set of some of his best hits. He opened with his latest release ‘Moves’, which showed off his cheeky chappy persona to a tee.
Jonas Blue brings out all the guests
DJ Jonas Blue treated us to plenty of special guests during his energetic set. ‘Back and Forth’ is one of our favourite songs at the moment, so we were delighted when Jonas opened his set with the banger – and better still, brought out the vocal powerhouse herself, Becky Hill. Later on in his set, Jonas was joined by Jack & Jack for ‘Rise’ and Liam Payne and Lennon Stella for ‘Polaroid’.
James Arthur and Dalton Harris show us the ‘Power of Love’
James Arthur delivered a strong set including his hits ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’, ‘You Deserve Better’, and ‘Empty Space’. He even surprised the audience by bringing out the newly crowned X Factor winner Dalton Harris for a spine tingling performance of their duet ‘The Power of Love’.
Halsey unleashes her fierceness
Making her Ball debut this year was Halsey, who was a crowd favourite following her performance of ‘Eastside’ and a stunning stripped back version of ‘Closer’. However, our highlight was her fierce performance of her recent single ‘Without Me’, which showcased the artist at her best.
Anne-Marie encourages us to love ourselves
Despite being poorly, Anne-Marie gave her all with a fantastic set full of her best hits. Anne-Marie always brings the sass on stage but her personality really came through on her latest single ‘Perfect To Me’ which made us love her even more and encouraged us to love ourselves too.
Rita Ora never let us down with her bop-filled set
Rita Ora capped off a stunning 2018 with a bop-filled set at JBB. With so many great tracks in her discography, it must have been hard to whittle down which songs to perform but she didn’t let us down with her choices. Her set included the likes of ‘Anywhere’, ‘Black Widow’, ‘Lonely Together’, and ‘I Will Never Let You Down’.
David Guetta ends the night with a massive dance party
Ending the party on a high, DJ David Guetta performed a 30 minute set which got the crowd jumping. He weaved his own hits including ‘Titanium’ and ‘Flames’ in with other artists’ songs including ‘Promises’.
