Former MacGyver hunk Richard Dean Anderson looks unrecognisable from his days on the hit series.

The 72-year-old was recently spotted while out and about in Malibu in photos exclusively obtained by The Sun.

He wore a long-sleeved red shirt with a baggy pair of grey trackpants and looked unrecognisable with long white hair.

While he didn’t wear glasses during the outing, Anderson held onto a pair at one point during the day.

The actor was seen stopping by the post office to post some boxes before he headed to the Vitamin Bar. While inside the store, he was seen chatting with a neighbour and played with the other man’s dog.

He wore a face mask while inside the store, though pulled it down onto his chin throughout the conversation.

The actor ended his day in Malibu by picking up a few items at the local market before heading home.

MacGyver a household name

The actor is best known for starring in the titular role on MacGyver, which ran from 1985 to 1992.

The hit series was famous for MacGyver’s ability to get himself out of sticky situations with very limited supplies.

The show followed secret agent Angus MacGyver, who worked as a troubleshooter for the Phoenix Foundation in Los Angeles and as an agent for the United States government agency the Department of External Services (DXS).

Years after the original MacGyver ended, the show was rebooted in 2016 starring Lucas Till in the lead role. It aired until 2021.

Acting career

Anderson made his television debut on the soap opera General Hospital playing Jeff Webber.

He went on to make guest appearances on The Facts Of Life, Today’s F.B.I. and The Love Boat before scoring starring roles on Seven Brides For Seven Brothers and Emerald Point N.A.S.

More Coverage

After MacGyver, Anderson starred as Jack O’Neill in sci-fi series Stargate SG-1 from 1997 to 2007, while he also played the role in a few episodes of the spin-off series Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe.

His most recent television acting credit was on a 2013 episode of Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, where he appeared as himself.
