According to him, the venture doesn’t pay as people think, thus the reason why he is still poor even after being a full-time musician for the past 15 years.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM with Dr. Cann, Paa Solo said that he has not even benef itted a pesewa from his videos on YouTube but someone else somewhere is seriously making money from the same venture.

He said that he tried fighting for the rights of musicians in order for them to receive the royalties they deserve but all his efforts to make their voice heard proved futile.

Ever since I started doing music, I haven’t seen any improvement in my life and also, it does not pay as much as people think it does and I wouldn’t want my children to experience that. As I speak, I’m not receiving a pesewa from all my songs on YouTube but someone else is benefiting from it. I tried fighting for what rightfully belongs to me with my management but all to no avail, he said.

He also expressed his displeasure in how some people use his songs without his concern and anytime he tries to approach to make sure the needful is done, it becomes an issue so he ends up letting go of the case.

Well, Paa Solo might be right with his assertions because unlike Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy who are in their prime and are making huge sums from their crafts, some other musicians are struggling to even make income from one song. Even with them, they are receiving GHC2000 as royalties and how much more someone who isn’t that famous.
