Veteran of the Croatian national final, Jacques Houdek will finally be representing his country at Eurovision. His song may be revealed next week.

He has been in the national selection a total of six times; so it’s no wonder he has been chosen through internal selection. However, you may have seen him in other things, most notably on The X Factor in the UK, where he stunned the judges.

He has released a total of 13 albums, and he is currently one of the four coaches on the Croatian version of The Voice. He won the first season, as he lead Nina Kraljic to victory. The contestant then went on to represent Croatia at Eurovision last year with “Lighthouse”.

Last year, Croatia came 23rd in the Grand Final with 73 points. Jacques Houdek is hoping to beat that this year. The country has never won the contest. The best they’ve done is come fourth back in 1996 and 1999.

With a voice like his, Jacques Houdek has got a great chance at doing well in May. However, he’ll have to beat the other contestants. The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will be held in Kyiv, Ukraine, after Jamala won last year with “1944”. The semi-finals will take place on 9 May and 11 May, with the Grand Final on 13 May 2017.
