Return To Amish star Sabrina High, who goes by Sabrina Burkholder on the series, was arrested in Pennsylvania for drug possession along with other charges. Starcasm was the first to break the news earlier this month. Sabrina Burkholder was officially booked on May 11 on charges citing from an incident back on April 23. According to online court records obtained by the website, Sabrina was booked with charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving an Unregistered Vehicle, and Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
At the time of her arrest, Sabrina was currently on probation from a previous charge of Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution. Sabrina pleaded no contest to that charge on January 5 of this year, and received one year of probation. The drug possession charge and the possession of drug paraphernalia were only misdemeanors. The charge of driving a vehicle without a registration was only a summary offense.
An inside source told Starcasm that Sabrina was sent to do community service. She was also charged with court fines and fees. Sabrina was still in jail at the time of the report, but she was reported to be released on Monday, May 22. It hasn’t been reported if she was released from jail. It’s also unclear what the custody arrangement is with Sabrina’s two children, Oakley, 3, and Arianna Grace, 3 months.
The outlet reports that since she’s still in custody, things may be grimmer for her this time around. Sabrina may have a difficult time beating these legal issues and remaining custody of her two daughters. Sabrina previously lost custody of Oakley after struggling with her drug issues after Oakley was born. She was absent from the show’s second season in 2015 due to her heroin addiction, which led her to becoming homeless.
Sabrina Burkholder returned to the show in 2016 and claimed to be clean and fight to regain custody of Oakley once again. She won that court battle, but revealed shortly that Oakley was once again in custody of the state, which mean she could lose her.
Fans of Return To Amish are deeply saddened to hear about Sabrina Burkholder’s arrest. They are hoping that she will persevere through this misstep in her life. The reality star is said to have lived a difficult life before and during her time on Return To Amish. Maybe this will be the final straw that allows Sabrina to realize her troubles and get her life on the right track. It’s also unclear whether Sabrina’s legal troubles will play out on the show. Fans will just have to tune in and see if she will address them head-on. New episodes of Return To Amish air on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
