The custody battle between Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis and her ex, Thomas Ravenel, has just taken another shocking turn. After Ravenel implied in a recent court filing that Dennis used a rehab stint as a “ruse” to cover the fact that she had a secret abortion, Dennis has come clean with what really happened.
According to OK! Magazine, Dennis revealed that Ravenel got her pregnant in early 2016 just weeks after she gave birth to their son Saint, who was born in November 2015. Dennis says that she knew her relationship with Ravenel was falling apart, and she decided to terminate the pregnancy.

In her affidavit, Dennis wrote that when she got pregnant a third time, she didn’t believe that she and Ravenel would get back together and they couldn’t handle a third baby. Accordingly, she had an abortion in February of 2016.
Court filings reveal that four months after the abortion, Dennis went to a rehab facility in Malibu, California for alcoholism, amphetamine use disorder, cannabis use, self-harm, and major depression after losing custody of her two children. And, it was while she was at the treatment center that she had another medical procedure because she was experiencing excessive bleeding.
“I was diagnosed with menorrhagia and had to have a D&C procedure to remove the uterine lining buildup and a mass left from the February procedure. This medical complication arising from the February abortion occurred while I was in rehabilitation, but I still finished the 30-day program and was discharged. I was not pregnant while in rehabilitation,” explained Dennis.
Both Dennis and Ravenel have made some nasty accusations against each other in the past nine months while battling for primary custody. Dennis’ late mother, Allison, claimed that Ravenel drugged Dennis and had problems with alcohol.

In response, the former South Carolina state treasurer claimed that Dennis is addicted to alcohol, prescription medication, shopping, and sex.
In addition to the custody case, Ravenel is also facing assault charges after police arrested him in September 2018. He is still waiting for his day in court. As for the custody case, the judge has yet to make a decision.
